Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Estimator to develop capital costs, services estimates, and cost models across multi-discipline projects in our Building Engineering Services group. You will lead estimate efforts, prepare basis documentation, and support proposals and contract negotiations with data-driven methods.

Responsibilities include creating unit rates, labor and ODC pricing, schedule and cash model analysis, and input on risk and contingency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Science Engineering or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 10 years' related experience
• Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office software
• Advanced understanding of construction estimating concepts, scheduling and risk
• Ability to lead small project estimates
• Strong communication skills
• Visa sponsorship for US employment not available

Responsibilities

• Perform general or discipline cost estimating generating capital cost and/or services estimates; data analysis identifying problems and make recommendations
• Support estimate reporting and reviews
• Provide technical direction to assigned personnel
• Execute simultaneous tasks within broadly defined parameters
• Prepare services, distributable, contractor indirect and/or capital cost estimates in specialized discipline areas
• Prepare cost/schedule products for proposals or contract negotiations
• Provide input on level of effort required (cost/job hours) through coordination with functions/vendors
• Perform and review methodology for quantity takeoffs from design drawings for multidiscipline sections
• Prepare detail pricing field office non-manual labor/ODC and home office labor/ODCs
• Produce capital costs estimate using a crew-based approach
