Job summary

HGC Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator to transform plans and data into budgets, estimates, and strategies for commercial projects. You will identify risks, collaborate with project partners, and drive cost efficiency from preconstruction through handoff to operations.

The role demands big-picture thinking and attention to detail, with use of Sage Estimating and digital takeoff tools to deliver accurate, actionable estimates. On-site site visits may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, GMPs, and competitive bids for commercial construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for complete scope coverage.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, project risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Present estimate summaries, assumptions, clarifications, and value-engineering recommendations.
• Maintain current cost data, market pricing, and estimating tools.
• Support project handoffs from preconstruction to operations.
• Use Sage Estimating and digital takeoff platforms such as Autodesk Takeoff or On-Screen Takeoff.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
