Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a seasoned estimator to prepare and analyze design/build and construction management estimates for diverse projects. You will evaluate bids, coordinate with subcontractors, and support the overall estimating function to ensure competitive and accurate cost projections.

The role requires strong knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and effective communication, with travel up to 40% as needed. Domestic/international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
• Reads and comprehends drawings and specifications and identify missing elements during design development.
• Ability to perform conceptual estimates in multiple trades and review estimates in many trades.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares design/build, engineer, construction management, guaranteed maximum price, and hard-bid estimates/proposals.
• Analyzes quotations both prior to and on bid day.
• Evaluates bids of sub-contractors and suppliers for completeness of scope of work, delivery time, and compliance with the specifications and other requirements.
• Develop subcontractor and vendor scopes and reviews same for completeness.
• Manages bid day and close out activities.
