Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare estimates for design/build and bid proposals across multiple trades. You will analyze quotations, evaluate subcontractor bids, and manage bid day activities.

Travel up to 40% may be required, and a high school diploma with 8 years' related experience is expected. The role offers growth in a collaborative, inclusive environment at CDM Smith.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 8 years of related experience.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Prepares design/build, engineer, CM, GMP, and hard-bid estimates/proposals.
• Analyzes quotations prior to and on bid day.
• Evaluates bids for completeness, delivery time and specs.
• Enters quantity take-offs and material unit prices.
• Recognizes and applies WBS structure.
• Prepares opinions of probable construction costs.
• Develop subcontractor and vendor scopes; reviews for completeness.
• Assists in coordinating overall corporate estimating functions.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Guides junior staff in estimating procedures and software.
• Manages bid day and close-out activities.
• Performs additional duties as required.
