Job summary

Leonard S. Fiore, Inc. is a Central Pennsylvania builder seeking a Senior Estimator to lead competitive bidding and manage subcontractor relationships. You will deliver accurate project estimates for mid- to large-scale commercial work.

The role requires 5–8+ years of estimating experience, a related degree, and proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam. This hybrid role covers Altoona and State College with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Five to eight (5–8+) years commercial construction estimating experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience developing estimates for mid- to large-scale commercial projects valued between $12–$50 million.
• Procore, Bluebeam, and other estimating software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope, assumptions, and risks, develop bid strategies, coordinate pre-bid meetings, and prepare competitive, compliant proposals.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier proposals, manage RFIs, addenda, and clarifications to ensure accurate and complete estimates.
• Perform detailed digital and manual quantity takeoffs, develop cost models covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes, and produce schedules of values and job cost breakdowns.
• Lead the buyout process, assign trades, manage subcontractor awards, track procurement progress, and support contract negotiations and change orders.
• Guide and train junior estimators, provide estimating expertise, and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, while monitoring regional construction trends to inform estimating strategy.

• Deep knowledge of construction processes, materials, and systems
• Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers in a competitive bid environment
