Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead foundation bids for electrical infrastructure projects. You’ll apply drilling shafts and shallow-foundation knowledge to complex transmission and substations bids, owning cost estimates and risk review.

You will review drawings and scopes, perform take-offs, manage subcontractor quotes, and present proposals while guiding pricing strategy within a national contractor. This role offers growth and challenging infrastructure work.

Qualifications

• At least three years of construction estimating or equivalent field experience.
• Experience with drilled shafts, flatwork or shallow foundations.
• Background in electrical infrastructure, transmission, substations or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, productivity and project risk.
• Proficiency with Excel and estimating tools; degree preferred but not required.

Senior Estimator – Foundations | Electrical Infrastructure & Heavy Civil

A leading utility and infrastructure contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to support the continued growth of its foundation construction operations across the electrical infrastructure market.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator with knowledge of drilled shafts, shallow foundations and concrete flatwork to take ownership of complex bids and help shape the commercial strategy behind major transmission, substation and infrastructure projects.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, RFPs and project scopes
• Completing material, labor and equipment take-offs
• Leading bid reviews, pre-bid meetings and proposal presentations
• Developing pricing strategies, risk registers and cost analyses

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with drilled shafts, flatwork or shallow foundations
• Background in electrical infrastructure, transmission, substations or heavy civil construction
• Strong understanding of construction costs, productivity and project risk
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating tools
• A degree in construction management, civil engineering or a related discipline is preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered
