Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking a Senior Estimator with a strong background in heavy civil construction and underground utilities to own the estimating process on complex, high-value projects. You will take bids from bid stage through construction, review drawings, specifications, and bid documents, and prepare scopes of work, RFIs, and subcontractor packages.

Qualifications

• Extensive estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Strong background in underground utilities (water, wastewater, gas, sanitary, steam, or mechanical piping).
• Experience estimating complex infrastructure or utility projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, quantities, and bid requirements.
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid or similar estimating software.
• Strong Excel, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Are you a Senior Estimator with a strong background in heavy civil construction and underground utilities?

We’re working with a growing and highly respected infrastructure contractor looking to add an experienced Senior Estimator to its team.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the estimating process on complex, high-value utility and infrastructure projects, while also playing a key role in supporting projects from bid stage through construction.

What you’ll be doing:

• Developing detailed and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil and underground utility projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, bid documents, and commercial requirements
• Completing quantity take-offs, pricing, production analysis, and bid proposals
• Preparing scopes of work, RFIs, and subcontractor/vendor packages
• Working closely with clients, contractors, engineers, and third-party partners
• Supporting projects through preconstruction and into project delivery
• Assisting with project planning, scheduling, forecasting, cost, risk, and change management

What we’re looking for:

• Significant estimating experience within heavy civil construction
• Strong background in underground utilities, including water, wastewater, gas, sanitary, steam, or mechanical piping
• Experience estimating complex infrastructure or utility projects
