Job summary

The Scruggs Company seeks an estimator to produce estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings and to prepare final contract estimates. You will assess site exposures and construction risks and reflect these factors in the estimate, identify construct-ability issues, and propose value-engineering alternatives.

You will also perform takeoffs and contribute to all aspects of producing successful estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Manufacturing or related field.
• Two years of related experience in estimating or a closely related role; required for the position.
• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid, GDOT road construction estimating, Blue Beam, and Civil 3D.

Job description

Produce estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings. Produce detailed, final contract estimates. Assess site exposures and construction risks and analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate. ldentify construct-ability issues throughout the estimating process and identify value-engineering alternatives. Perform takeoffs and contribute to all aspects of producing successful estimates.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any), Construction Management, Manufacturing or related field of study (*pre-baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate experience acceptable) and two years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must have demonstrated experience with: HCSS HeavyBid; road construction estimating in Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) projects; road construction assemblies and all project phases; ordering initial construction materials; managing submittals; Blue Beam; and Civil 3D.
