ACCO Engineered Systems seeks an Estimating Manager to lead the estimating team, develop strategic bids, and ensure accurate, competitive cost estimates. This role drives bid quality and profitability through strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in estimating with prior management experience, and advanced Excel/estimating software skills to optimize processes and integrate with engineering and purchasing teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of estimating experience in construction.
• Minimum 2 years in an estimating management role with direct reports.
• Strong organizational, supervisory, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with sound judgment.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Professional interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients.
• Proficiency with estimating and project controls software.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word, including complex spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Manage estimating department responsibilities, including staff supervision and mentoring.
• Oversee all estimates for Project Management team; support estimated/budgeted projects.
• Maintain estimating standards across disciplines to ensure quality control.
• Prepare post-bid reports, track bid performance metrics, follow up on bids.
• Develop and maintain estimating tools, processes, and material pricing.
• Manage bid schedules and participate in bid reviews and job walks.
• Collaborate with Sales and Executive Leadership on new pursuits and networking.
• Support change order estimation, compilation, and negotiation.
• Assist in developing estimating goals and updated departmental budgets.
• Collaborate with Engineering, BIM, and Purchasing to advance technical capabilities.
