Job summary

American Construction Corporation seeks a Senior Estimator to develop accurate and competitive project estimates across preconstruction and design phases. You will coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure comprehensive, timely cost data and robust budgets.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in commercial construction estimating, strong leadership, and proficiency with estimating software and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience estimating ground-up, core and shell, fit-out, and renovation projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience preparing conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and value engineering analyses.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and construction technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual, schematic, design development, and final construction estimates for complex projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to determine project scope, risks, and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and constructability reviews.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, logistics challenges, and value engineering alternatives.
• Develop project budgets, schedules, and pricing strategies throughout all phases of design.
• Collaborate with Project Teams to develop project strategies and execution plans.
• Lead estimate reviews, bid presentations, and project turnover meetings.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams.
• Mentor, train, and support Estimators and Assistant Estimators.
• Support business development, proposal efforts, and client presentations.
• Promote and maintain estimating standards, processes, and software tools.
