Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA is seeking a Sr. Estimating Manager to lead AMER Estimating and Cost Control. You will set standards for estimating, mentor teams, and drive portfolio-wide pricing across mega-cluster programs.

In this senior IC role, you will influence across Cost Control, Preconstruction, Design Engineering, and Finance, partnering with leadership to deliver high-value, complex facility estimates and data center programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating or related fields.
• Experience presenting to senior leadership and managing third-party vendors.

Responsibilities

• Own estimating for multiple mega clusters aligned with Cost Control, Preconstruction, and Construction Management.
• Serve as AMER-wide estimating subject matter expert establishing standards and best practices.
• Mature the third-party estimating vendor program and define deliverable standards and performance expectations.
• Lead the estimate-to-actual feedback methodology across cluster groups and benchmark data.
• Make autonomous pricing and estimating judgments for novel or high-ambiguity scope.
• Represent estimating function to senior leadership in capital planning and governance meetings.
• Lead cross-cluster estimating exercises for mega-campus projects and portfolio-level cost estimating.
• Mentor junior Estimating Managers and Discipline Estimators to build capability across AMER.
