Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior Staff Escalation Engineer in San Jose, CA. You will lead high-impact network escalations, drive resolutions, and partner with customers to optimize architectures using SONiC and FRR in a hybrid work setting.

You will mentor engineers, author technical docs, and contribute to open networking initiatives for data centers, enterprises, and hyperscale environments.

Qualifications

• 10–14+ years in network design, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization across DC/Enterprise/ campus.
• Deep SONiC & Open Networking expertise required.
• Mastery of Linux networking tools, kernel drivers, and diagnostics.
• Strong routing protocol knowledge: BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, OSPF/IS-IS.
• Experience with QoS, Telemetry, gNMI, and analytics.
• Hardware/silicon awareness of ASICs and topologies.
• Proven customer-facing escalation leadership.
• Documentation skills to produce guides and alerts.

Responsibilities

• Act as highest-level escalation for mission-critical network issues across switching, routing, security, and storage.
• Perform root-cause analysis for distributed networking problems involving SONiC, FRR, and hardware architectures.
• Collaborate with customer teams and sales engineering toOptimize architectures and configurations.
