Job summary

Bowman Williams is seeking an Escalation Engineer to deliver dedicated remote technical support to major client accounts from our on-site office in New York. In this senior role, you’ll lead responses to complex infrastructure issues and guide Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers.

You will own incident management, coordinate cross-team collaboration, and develop solutions for Windows Server, Azure, VMware, and related infrastructure. A recurring after-hours on-call rotation is part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Strong Azure experience.
• VMware experience required.
• Windows Server with AD and GPO.
• SonicWall firewall knowledge.
• Exchange/Microsoft 365 admin experience.
• IT Glue administration preferred.
• Scripting/automation experience preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for outages and complex issues.
• Investigate customer problems with focus on business needs.
• Respond to incidents proactively and reactively.
• Provide clear ticket updates during incident response.
• Monitor SLAs and meet/exceed response/resolution goals.
• Coach Tier 1/2 engineers on decisions and tickets.
• Provide advanced support for storage, virtualization, Windows OS.
• Use systems management tools to monitor client environments.
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring networking tasks; create scripts/tools.
• Assess unfamiliar environments to identify causes and next steps.
• Develop skills through professional development and certs.
• Participate in recurring after-hours on-call rotation.
