Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Employee Relations Partner to focus on non-investigative ER work, including conflict resolution, high-risk performance management, sensitive exits, and guiding leaders through complex workplace dynamics.

You’ll report to the senior manager and collaborate across the People Team, applying a human-centered approach to solve problems in a fast-growing environment and helping shape OpenAI’s evolving culture with principled decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years in employee relations or related roles.
• Experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments, ideally tech or mission-driven.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Advise managers and cross-functional partners through complex or high-risk employee situations with empathy.
• Shape responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools within ER while maintaining confidentiality and safeguards.
• Build scalable ER tools, frameworks, and processes to reduce over-reliance on formal investigations.
• Translate recurring ER challenges into practical guidance and resources.
• Serve as escalation partner for culture concerns and employee dynamics.
• Collaborate with HRBPs, Legal, and leadership to align people decisions and policies.
• Navigate ambiguity with proactive, calm, creative problem-solving.
• Use data to identify trends and advise on systemic solutions for cultural health.
