Job summary

Bank of Montreal (BMO) Capital Markets seeks a Senior Equity Research Associate or Vice President to join the U.S. Financials team. The role focuses on building detailed financial models, analyzing statements, and producing equity research reports for internal and external clients.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in equity research within U.S. Financials, strong accounting/finance skills, and excellent written/verbal communication. CFA or progression toward CFA is a plus.

Qualifications

• A combination of writing skills, technical knowledge and skills in equity research, finance or accounting is required.
• Prior equity research experience in U.S. Financials is preferred but not mandatory for entry.
• Strong communication and client-facing abilities are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed company models (IS/BS/CF).
• Analyze financial statements and industry coverage news.
• Review company filings (10-K, 10-Q, earnings releases) and transcripts.
• Write equity research reports and develop investment theses over time.
• Participate in site visits and management meetings.
• Sourcing and analyzing industry data and disseminating insights to clients.
