Job summary

Jefferies is seeking a hands-on Senior Vice President to lead the architecture, development, and evolution of our Equities OMS and electronic trading platform in New York. You will drive platform scalability, engineering excellence, and strategic growth while partnering with trading, product, and operations leaders.

The role requires deep expertise in Java, distributed systems, and front-office trading platforms, with a track record of delivering high-performance systems at scale.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience delivering electronic trading and front-office trading platforms.
• Deep expertise in Java and distributed systems architecture.
• Strong understanding of Equities market structure, OMS/EMS platforms, FIX protocol, and execution workflows.
• Proven experience building and operating front-office trading platforms at scale.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technology initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong architectural, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and development of high-performance OMS and electronic trading platforms.
• Drive technology strategy supporting business growth and market structure evolution.
• Partner directly with trading and product stakeholders to deliver strategic capabilities.
• Own critical platform components including order lifecycle management, routing, execution workflows, risk controls, and exchange connectivity.
• Establish engineering standards, platform resiliency, and operational excellence.
• Mentor senior engineers and develop technical leadership across the organization.
• Lead modernization, automation, and platform transformation initiatives.
