Job summary

City of Palm Coast seeks a skilled equipment operator to perform maintenance and repair of city infrastructure, including stormwater swales, pipes, canals, and related properties. You may operate heavy machinery and lead a crew as assigned.

Requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid Florida Class A CDL, FDOT Temporary Traffic Control certification, and Stormwater Operator Level II. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in extreme heat, with after-hours availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 4+ years heavy equipment experience.
• Valid Florida Class A CDL (unrestricted) required.
• FDOT Temporary Traffic Control certification and Stormwater Operator Level II certification required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding labor and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate back-hoes, loaders, excavators and other heavy equipment.
• Perform infrastructure maintenance including stormwater, pipes, and canals.
• Lead work crews when assigned and supervise staff as needed.
• Prepare work orders and daily reports.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours calls as required.
