Job summary

The City of Rockledge seeks qualified personnel for heavy equipment operation and related manual labor. Work under limited supervision, applying policies to determine the best approach.

Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the operation of a variety of heavy equipment and manual labor associated with the equipment’s use. Work is performed under limited supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position relies on experience to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by three or more years’ experience in the operation of a variety of light to heavy equipment; experience in sewer transmission or solid waste collection is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have a valid Florida Class A commercial driver's license with an air brake endorsement. Must have or be able to obtain National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) certification. May be required to have or obtain additional industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.
