Job summary

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (NDCNR) is seeking an Equipment Mechanic III to maintain a wide range of fleet and specialized machinery in Nevada. The role requires journeyman-level skills, diagnostics, and hands-on repairs across engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized automotive/equipment repair apprenticeship program and journey-level experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of brakes, steering, transmissions, electrical systems, and emissions.
• Ability to read service and hydraulic/electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Repair, overhaul, and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Repair and rebuild brake systems, steering and suspension, differentials, and drivetrains.
• Fabricate and install parts; perform preventative maintenance and document activities.
