Job summary

Nevada Department of Transportation in Elko, NV is seeking a Fleet Service Worker 3 to support maintenance and operational tasks across a variety of vehicles and equipment. Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of experience which included diagnosing and performing basic vehicle/equipment repairs and adjustments; performing preventive maintenance on a variety of vehicles/equipment; and maintaining vehicle/equipment records and reports.
• OR one year of experience as a Fleet Service Worker II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of vehicles/equipment; tune engines and replace fluids, filters, belts, hoses, and batteries.
• Repair or replace tires and rims; balance and mount tires and ensure safe operation.
• Wash and detail vehicles/equipment for presentable appearance; steam clean engines and interiors.
• Provide assistance to mechanics and storekeepers by delivering equipment and parts and verifying invoices.
• Reserve vehicles, fuel equipment, and collect usage data; schedule vehicles/equipment for service.
• Perform related duties as assigned and act as lead worker when needed.
• Under supervision, perform full range of duties with increasing complexity as journey level.
