Job summary

Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources seeks an Equipment Mechanic III to perform advanced repair, maintenance, and overhaul of a broad fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform major and minor repairs, and ensure preventive maintenance per schedules.

Responsibilities include fabrication, welding, testing, documentation, and collaboration with supervisors and peers to maintain safe, reliable equipment across Nevada.

Qualifications

• Completion of an automotive/equipment repair apprenticeship or journeyman level experience.
• Ability to diagnose complex malfunctions using manuals and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with major repairs, overhauls, and preventive maintenance.
• Capable of fabrication, welding, and working on specialized systems.
• Strong safety ethic and compliance with EPA/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose root causes and determine parts required for repairs.
• Repair, overhaul, and maintain a wide range of equipment and fleet vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document activities and parts used.
• Fabricate or modify parts; weld and install as needed.
• Maintain records, ensure safety, and collaborate with team members.
