Job summary

Bloom Energy is seeking a seasoned Maintenance/Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to support high-capacity production lines. The role emphasizes diagnosing and fixing automated manufacturing equipment, commissioning new machinery, and optimizing control systems for safety and throughput.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to analyze production data, improve efficiency, and implement robust equipment solutions across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

  • 9+ years in a high-capacity manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Eng Tech, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance required or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's in Engineering preferred but not required.
  • Experience with automated equipment and PLC/HMI controls.

Responsibilities

  • Support equipment across multiple manufacturing lines with varying complexity.
  • Diagnose and fix high-speed automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide PLC and HMI programming support, including motion and servo control.
  • Modify control logic to improve safety, performance or throughput.
  • Commission new automated equipment and ensure devices function as designed.
  • Install, commission, and support vision systems for tracking and quality inspections.
  • Oversee equipment installation, start-up and implementation projects.
  • Validate new product designs, equipment, and processes with engineering teams.
  • Analyze production data to boost safety, reduce costs, improve efficiency and quality.
  • Lead investigations and root cause analysis for quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, with differing levels of complexity
  • Skilled in diagnosing and fixing high speed automated manufacturing equipment
  • Automated Equipment
  • Provide support for equipment through PLC and HMI programming, encompassing motion and servo control systems
  • Ability to modify existing control logic to improve safety, performance or throughput
  • Participate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designed
  • Installation, commissioning and support of vision systems for tracking and quality inspections
  • Oversee equipment installation as well as start-up and implementation projects
  • Validate new product designs, equipment, and processes with engineering teams
  • Analyze Production Data to find ways to boost safety, cut costs, enhance efficiency, and raise quality.
  • Drive investigations and root cause analysis for quality issues
  • Collect and analyze mechanical and electrical test data with engineering teams
Requirements
  • 9+ years of high capacity manufacturing environment preferred
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance required or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline preferred but not required
  • Experience with Automated Equipment.
  • Functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, industrial control panels, electronic sensors, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Equipment requirement development and specification writing
  • Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards
  • Knowledge of Autocad, Solidworks and MS Office suite
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Good Attendance, Initiative, responsible follow through and a willingness to help.
  • Must be flexible with changing shift or work schedule.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours per shift
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbs
  • Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift
  • Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots)
