Job description

Senior Equipment Engineering Technician
Role and Responsibilities
  • Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, diagnosing and fixing high‑speed automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide support for PLC and HMI programming, encompassing motion and servo control systems.
  • Modify existing control logic to improve safety, performance, or throughput.
  • Participate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designed.
  • Install, commission, and support vision systems for tracking and quality inspections.
  • Oversee equipment installation, startup, and implementation projects.
  • Validate new product designs, equipment, and processes with engineering teams.
  • Analyze production data to identify ways to boost safety, cut costs, enhance efficiency, and raise quality.
  • Drive investigations and root‑cause analysis for quality issues.
  • Collect and analyze mechanical and electrical test data with engineering teams.
Qualifications
  • 9+ years of experience in a high‑capacity manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance (required) or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with automated equipment.
  • Functional knowledge of PLCs, low‑voltage controls, three‑phase power distribution, industrial control panels, electronic sensors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Experience in equipment requirement development and specification writing.
  • Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office suite.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Good attendance, initiative, responsible follow‑through, and willingness to help.
  • Flexibility to work a changing shift or work schedule.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 8–10 hours per shift.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 25 lbs.
  • Use of hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading printed or digital materials.
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in required areas, such as safety glasses and safety‑toed boots.

Salary Range
