Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support our manufacturing operations in Newark, DE. The role covers routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and automation support on electrical systems and control panels on the shop floor.

You will work with engineers and technicians to install, calibrate, and test sensors, actuators, and motor controls, while maintaining accurate documentation and safety compliance across all tasks.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of electrical or electronic technician experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in maintenance, equipment and industrial repair.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Familiarity with electrical circuits, motor controls, and industrial automation.
• Basic understanding of PLCs, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, vision systems, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics.
• Knowledge of MS Office suite.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to understand safety protocols, hazard communications, and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in test system startup procedures.
• Make recommendations for electrical layout improvements.
• Develop BOM’s and spare parts lists for critical systems and equipment.

• Demonstrates competency in written and verbal English communications to understand safety protocols, hazard communications, and standard operational procedures (SOPs) required to ensure the safety of the employee and others on the manufacturing floor.
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift.
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbs.
• Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift.
• Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials.
• Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots).
