Job summary

Amentum seeks a driven Epidemiology Operations Senior Analyst to lead infectious-disease surveillance for the PACOM Command Surgeon’s DST. This role integrates public health, biosurveillance, wastewater data, and open-source information to identify anomalies and assess force-health effects.

The senior analyst serves as liaison with civilian health agencies, academia, and foreign partners, and supports J07/J85 through research and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in epidemiology/public health/biostatistics or related.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• 7+ years in epidemiology/public health surveillance or related field.
• Experience analyzing complex surveillance data and translating findings.
• Knowledge of epidemiological design, surveillance methods, and statistics.
• Familiarity with military planning and working with military planners, intelligence professionals, and decision-makers.
• Indo-Pacific experience and familiarity with AI-enabled tools or biosurveillance platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyze epidemiological, public-health, wastewater, biosurveillance, operational, open-source, and classified information to identify trends and threats.
• Lead wastewater-surveillance baseline, indicators, trends, and anomaly-threshold development.
• Assess significance, reliability, limitations, and operational implications of findings.
• Provide findings to the Operations Planner for integration with medical intelligence and force health protection.
• Monitor emerging infectious diseases across the US PACOM AOR using multiple data sources.
• Coordinate with J07, theater public-health orgs, overseas labs, and external partners.
• Test the Biosurveillance Information Platform and provide epidemiology findings for assessments and recommendations.
• Translate surveillance needs into requirements for technical teams developing feeds, dashboards, and alerts.
