Job summary

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) seeks a Senior Epidemiologist to join the Maryland Poison Center. You will lead data management and analyses for epidemiologic programs, design research and surveillance activities, and develop dashboards for stakeholders.

You will collaborate with public health officials, conduct independent projects, and contribute to manuscripts and grants while staying current with epidemiologic best practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, public health, health sciences or services.
• Two years of experience analyzing studies using a range of statistical techniques.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (SAS, R, STATA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and technical expertise in managing and examining data for epidemiologic/public health programs and projects.
• Design and implement surveys and meta-analyses; collect and document data of research findings.
• Perform data analysis, write reports, and prepare presentations of summarized statistical findings.
• Analyze poison exposure data to detect public health threats, identify trends, and support decision-making.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and data visualization tools for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with staff, public health officials, and national partners on surveillance and response.
