Job summary

The University of Maryland, Baltimore invites applications for a Night Shift Poison Information Specialist to join the Maryland Poison Center. You will provide emergency poison triage and treatment information by phone, rapidly integrating information and guiding callers through appropriate steps with strong communication.

The role requires flexibility with schedules, rapid data access to resources, and collaboration with toxicology experts to support healthcare professionals and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or nursing.
• Master's degree in nursing or doctoral degree in pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
• Current Maryland licensure in good standing to practice as a pharmacist or RN.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency triage and treatment information over the phone and documents interactions.
• Maintains thorough documentation using the Poison Center's data system.
• Performs follow-up calls and assesses outcome of exposure and adherence to recommendations.
• Assists healthcare professionals with clinical course, diagnostics, and treatment guidance.
• Collaborates with poison control team and participates in regional toxicology activities.
• Performs other duties within the scope of the role.
