Job summary

CDM Smith in Bangor, Maine is seeking an experienced design-build/EPC Project Manager with significant heavy industrial power/plants experience. The role involves defining project scope, budgets, schedules, and stakeholder alignment, while managing costs, billings, and subcontractor payments.

The successful candidate will mentor junior PMs and coordinate with engineering to resolve design issues, manage RFI responses, and ensure project delivery on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Thirteen (13) or more years of relevant work experience
• PMP ( PMI ), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list)

Responsibilities

• Creates project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for projects.
• Prepares statements of work with work breakdown structures and gains concurrence from stakeholders.
• Manages project costs and profitability.
• Prepares and reviews client billings; ensures timely payments and approves subcontractor invoices.
• Monitors project status and escalates risks.
• Communicates deadlines and objectives to the project team.
• Prepares schedules, budgets, and oversees in-house construction budgets by group.
• Facilitates meetings with stakeholders.
• Coordinates with engineering during code reviews and problem resolution.
• Coordinates submittals to authorities and monitors deliverables.
• Mentors less experienced Project Managers.
