Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City, MO, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead day-to-day management of safety, quality, schedule, cost, contracts, and risk for EPC and program management projects. You will guide a multidisciplinary team from inception to completion, acting as the primary client liaison and overseeing scope, budgets, and subcontracting.

This role requires a Bachelor's in engineering or related field and at least 7 years of relevant experience, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field; 7+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience on construction projects or program management in aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment and overtime on short notice.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work collaboratively with owners, contractors, engineers, designers in multi-discipline teams.
• Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance of multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Establish project teams, coordinate activities, and ensure efficient staff utilization.
• Manage all aspects of project communication.
• Lead RFP development, bid process, and scope of work documents.
• Develop and monitor schedules, manage scope and costs.
• Serve as primary client contact for coordination, planning, budget and subcontracting.
• Manage contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
