Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City is seeking a Construction Project Manager to support EPC Project Managers through pre-construction to warranty. You will manage water treatment and conveyance projects, lead planning, scheduling, and cost control, and develop client relationships across municipal and industrial sectors.

The role requires strong safety leadership, risk management, and coordination with engineering teams to deliver compliant, on-time outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Construction, Construction Management, or Engineering.
• 7 years relevant project management experience in construction.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control software.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction activities and the successful execution of one or more projects.
• Provide direction in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development and objectives.
• Develop and manage client relationships for proposals and project items.
• Participate in risk reviews and consult with Legal Department as required.
• Negotiate prime contracts, CM contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
• Implement project plans including safety, QA, staffing, and procurement.
• Mentor interns and junior construction staff; provide performance feedback.
