Senior EPC Contract & Commercial Lead (Renewables)

Job summary

MasTec Renewables seeks a Principal - Project Commercial Contract to lead administration of EPC contracts for renewables projects from our Indianapolis, IN office, with 3-4 days travel to Indiana-based sites. You will drive entitlement and commercial recovery strategies, coordinate with Commercial and Legal teams, and ensure adherence to contract requirements and timely project delivery.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, change order management, negotiations, and supporting litigation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in construction contract management on large projects.
• 3+ years experience with construction management software.
• Experience in EPC, design-build, renewables, transmission, power generation, industrial, or heavy civil projects.
• CCM, CPCM, or PMP preferred; MRICS preferred.
• Certification in claims analysis or delay analysis (AACE, PSP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for complex contractual and commercial issues.
• Present commercial risk assessments and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Establish relationships with project operational leadership teams.
• Proactively identify changes and prepare forward-looking analysis and mitigation plans.
• Interface with clients on contractual matters.
• Experience developing and executing claims and entitlement strategies on EPC and large projects.
• Experience preparing, evaluating, and negotiating change orders and delay/disruption claims.
• Support project closeout and insurance claims.
• Draft contractual notices to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Participate in owner meetings and risk assessments.
• Advise on contractual change requirements and monitor claims through resolution.
