Job summary

RTX's Environmental Test (ET) team in Tucson seeks a Principal Environmental Test Engineer with strong vibration and structural test expertise. You will execute tests, design fixtures, analyze data, and work within an IP team to meet customer requirements from prototype to production.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive hands-on experience in vibration shaker systems, data acquisition, and instrumentation, plus proficiency in CREO Parametric and Ansys Workbench.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 5 years in a product development lab with vibration shakers and instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

• Consult and provide testing guidance to internal program customers and verify required testing.
• Write test plans and procedures; create schedules and budgets for all testing.
• Oversee and conduct environmental testing for model validation and product qualification purposes.
• Ensure testing is performed accurately, on schedule, within budget, and per safety requirements.
• Analyze test data in real time and post-test to confirm requirements are met.
• Communicate testing status with ET leadership and internal customers.
• Design and analyze vibration and structural test fixtures using CREO Parametric and Ansys Workbench.
