Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking an Environmental Test Engineer II to join the Launch, Integration, and Test department in Leander, TX. You will develop test plans, design fixtures, and manage test execution for product development, acceptance, and qualification.

The role requires collaborating with a team of engineers and technicians, maintaining thorough records, and applying testing knowledge to drive process improvements and test readiness.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 3+ years of related experience in Aerospace testing.
• Familiarity with vibration, shock, and thermal testing.
• Experience with failure investigations, root cause analysis, and non-conformances.
• Knowledge of LabView software.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with accelerated schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead test planning, set-up, and execution of launch vehicle/spacecraft component testing
• Author and review test procedures
• Review finalized test data and report packages, ensuring compliance with requirements
• Lead root cause investigations and document findings
• Execute corrective actions
• Drive test readiness reviews, debriefs, and technical meetings
• Implement continuous process and facility improvements
• Lead testing, analyze data, and provide test authorization
• Troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data
