Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking an engineer to support the Environmental Test Lab in Leander, TX. You will assist with test setup and execution for launch vehicle components, author procedures, and review data for compliance.

BS in Engineering required with LabView experience; familiarity with MIL-STD standards and test rack design is a plus. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential to ensure high-quality test results and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret hardware schematics and use lab test equipment.

Responsibilities

This position is in the Environmental Test Lab in Leander TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with test planning set up and execution of launch vehiclespacecraft component testing
• Author and review test procedures
• Review finalized test data and report packages ensuring compliance with requirements
• Execute corrective actions
• Drive test readiness reviews debriefs and technical meetings
• Implement continuous process and facility improvements
• Work with the team to identify and fix issues found in test results

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required BS in Engineering
• Knowledge of LabView software
• Able to interpret hardware schematics and utilize lab test equipment oscilloscopes instrumentation DAQ systems
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Desired LabView Programming skills
• 3 D modeling skills for fixture design
• Experience testing to MIL STD 810G MIL STD 461E SMC S 016 or other rigorous environmental testing and screening standards
• Negotiating compliance and conformance with external governing agencies
• Direct experience with range safety agencies
• Experience with designing test racks and rack enclosures
