Job summary

RIM Recruitment Professionals seeks a Senior Systems Engineer in Daly City, CA to lead soil and groundwater remediation projects and manage industrial wastewater systems from design through O&M, with a hybrid work arrangement.

You will mentor teams, engage clients and regulators, and grow the firm's capabilities while upholding safety and quality standards. A CA PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months, 8+ years of experience, and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering.
• 8+ years of experience as a systems engineer or in a similar role.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Strong skills in quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling.
• Proven record of client advocacy and client-facing communication.
• Experience assigning and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and direct engineering and contractor teams through design, installation, and O&M.
• Work with design and construction teams to embed environmental considerations in redevelopment projects.
• Solve complex problems and advocate for clients.
• Manage project risk, including contractual risk.
• Produce design plans, technical specifications, and O&M manuals.
• Develop pilot test workplans and engineer's cost estimates; prepare bid packages.
• Provide input on workplans, deliverables, and RFIs.
• Grow the practice and mentor staff.
• Support proposals, client interviews, and contract negotiations.
• Represent the firm at professional associations and conferences.
• Uphold safety standards.
