Job summary

EKI Environment & Water, Inc in Daly City, CA, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead complex soil and groundwater remediation and industrial wastewater projects. You will manage design, installation, and O&M efforts, collaborating with cross-discipline teams to deliver cost-effective solutions and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor junior staff, review technical work, and contribute to standards across the firm while supporting the Environmental Services Group

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of experience as a systems engineer or similar role.
• California Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Ability to critically review and edit technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives.
• Skills in quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling.
• Proven client advocacy and excellence in client-facing technical communications.
• Ability to assign and manage work and mentor staff.
• Ability to provide input to engineering teams during design and submittals.
• HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical leader of the Environmental Services Group.
• Lead, direct, and contribute to environmental engineering and contractor teams to execute complex systems design, installation, and O&M projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental design into client projects.
• Prepare design plans, technical specifications, O&M manuals, pilot test workplans/reports, cost estimates, and bid packages.
• Provide mentorship to early career staff to develop technical skills.
• Communicate technical content to varied audiences with clear verbal and written skills.
• Implement risk management strategies related to design, installation, and O&M of systems.
• Support the Engineering Technical Director to grow the firm’s capabilities and promote quality of client service.
• Participate in RFP evaluation, proposal preparation, client interviews, and contract negotiations as appropriate.
• Contribute to engineering standards and cross-practice collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards.
