Job summary

Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community in Scottsdale, AZ seeks Senior Environmental Specialist to manage the EPA CERCLA 128(a) Tribal Brownfields grant program, directing assessments, cleanups, and redevelopment initiatives.

You will coordinate with tribal departments, community members and external partners, ensure compliance with federal and SRPMIC laws, and lead outreach and training to advance safe, sustainable projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences is required.
• 2 years of work experience in environmental quality programs.
• Possession of 40-hour HAZWOPER or related training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages the 128(a) grant and ensures the work plan is carried out.
• Oversees assessments and cleanup of Brownfields sites.
• Coordinates with EPA and Tribal departments to implement plans.
• Organizes outreach and training sessions for responders and cleanup workers.
