Job summary

Talos Energy LLC is seeking an Sr. Environmental Specialist to oversee regulatory compliance, permitting, and environmental programs across offshore and onshore operations. You will lead audits, risk assessments, and complex projects while collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Safety, and other teams to integrate environmental requirements into all activities.

The role requires a strong background in U.S. environmental laws, SEMS, and experience with offshore operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive environmental experience required.
• Significant environmental experience within oil and gas, energy, or industrial sector.
• Experience supporting offshore operations, environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, and compliance with federal and state environmental requirements.
• Experience leading environmental assessments, audits, inspections, risk assessments, and complex projects with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to develop and implement environmental programs, policies, and procedures with leadership and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, standards, and policies.
• Lead preparation, review, and submission of environmental permits, filings, and reports.
• Provide guidance on environmental requirements and regulatory developments to leadership and operations.
• Lead audits, assessments, and inspections with corrective actions.
• Develop strategies to mitigate environmental risks for operations and projects.
• Manage environmental project scope, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee monitoring programs and analyze data to evaluate compliance and performance.
• Prepare and present environmental analyses and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support sustainability initiatives focused on emissions reduction and resource conservation.
• Promote environmental stewardship and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Represent the company with regulators, industry groups, and external stakeholders.
• Provide environmental support during operations, audits, regulatory matters, and incidents.
