Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Civil, Chemical, Environmental preferred.
• At least five years' experience in construction and landfill operations.
• Proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% including remote locations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations (solid waste, air, stormwater, wastewater).
• Expertise in landfill design and permitting.
• Strong project management and leadership across teams.

Responsibilities

• Engage, direct, and manage professional consulting firms for tasks at solid waste facilities, including permit applications, construction plans, site monitoring, and regulatory submissions.
• Maintain strong relationships with regulators, representing us in permit meetings, hearings, and site inspections; act as a community liaison at conferences.
• Oversee landfill construction projects from design to final approval, including consultant and contractor management, budget oversight, bid preparation, and QA coordination.
• Manage and track capital budgets for engineering and construction projects, reporting to local management and corporate leadership.
• Coordinate landfill capacity tracking, including airspace calculations, capacity projections, and fill sequencing plans.
• Conduct regular site evaluations to ensure compliance with construction and permit documentation; identify expansion opportunities.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop cost-effective engineering solutions for environmental and compliance challenges.
• Support acquisition reviews and divestiture evaluations with proforma modeling and due diligence.
• Mentor and train technical staff to foster professional growth.
