Job summary

The City of San José is seeking a Supervising Environmental Services Specialist in the Environmental Services Department, Integrated Waste Management Division. This full-time role oversees teams, drives data-driven initiatives, and ensures excellent customer service across waste programs.

The position offers a flexible workplace policy with 32 hours onsite and up to eight hours remote, plus competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Four (4) years of experience in developing, promoting, and/or implementing environmental programs with two years of leadership or project experience.
• Strong project management, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise assigned staff and program area within the Division.
• Oversee large, long-term strategic planning and data-oriented solutions for contracts and contamination reduction.
• Coordinate budgets, grants, and performance metrics for program improvements.
