This role involves performing complex scientific and technical duties related to climate change initiatives, overseeing research on solid waste management impacts on climate change, managing projects, and participating in policymaking and advisory panels.
Key responsibilities include providing expertise on organic management technologies, recycling technologies, SLCP reduction strategies under SB 1383, and emission impacts in life cycle analyses and energy initiatives. The position also serves as the primary legislative contact for solid waste management issues related to climate change.
Requirements include: possession of a valid California Driver's License, ability to travel statewide (~10%), and compliance with telework policies. The role is based in Sacramento County with a hybrid work setup, requiring at least 2 days in-office or in the field, increasing to four days starting 07/01/2025.
