The Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Air Quality, is seeking to fill an Environmental Specialist IV vacancy in Augusta.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This Environmental Specialist IV position is in the Maine DEP’s Bureau of Air Quality, Planning and Mobile Sources Section. The Planning and Mobile Sources Section manager’s role within the Division of Licensing and Compliance is to develop, implement and oversee regulatory and non-regulatory programs for the Bureau of Air Quality. This position reports to the Director of Licensing and Compliance and works closely with staff throughout the Air Bureau and other state and quasi-state agencies. The successful candidate will have strong quantitative, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work closely with professional colleagues on a wide range of issues while managing mobile source related activities and enforcement activities for the Bureau of Air Quality. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An eight (8) year combination of education and/or experience in environmental science or related area which includes at least two (2) years of supervisory or program management/administration experience. Qualifying education must include at least 15 credit hours of science or engineering coursework.
