Job summary

AECOM seeks an Environmental Scientist to support our Remediation team in Fort Collins or Denver. You will lead investigations, manage staff and budgets, and design soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water programs. The role involves regulatory compliance, data analysis, and report preparation, with potential travel up to 50% locally.

Preferred candidates bring 7+ years of site investigations, strong writing, and ability to deliver high-quality results on time. This position requires a U.S.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Valid U.S Driver's License and pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Medical Surveillance is required.
• Pre-employment drug screen is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard and advanced scientific work applying techniques and procedures.
• Detects problems when using standardized procedures due to samples or equipment.
• Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
• Proposes analytical methods and provides advice within scope of knowledge.
• Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
• Collaborates with team members and project managers to meet client needs on schedule and budget.
• Utilizes techniques to generate data from remedial or investigative field work.
• Field work includes soil/groundwater/vapor sampling and well installations with various drilling techniques.
• Interprets and records data, analyzes results, ensures compliance with regulations.
• Mentor and train junior staff.
