Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Remediation group in Denver, CO.

The ideal candidate communicates well and is technically capable, with regulatory awareness, working under a team of engineers and scientists on site assessments, remedial and solid waste design, and multi-disciplinary project support. The role includes field and office responsibilities with growth potential; relocation sponsorship is not offered and travel may exceed 50% of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in environmental sciences or engineering or other related fields, AND eight (8) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors alike.
• Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
• Scientific research and report writing (including web based research).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
• Detect problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
• Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
• Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
• Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
• Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Works under general supervision.
• Flexible with working extended hours and locations; travel may be greater than 50 percent of time.
• Must be able to do day travel regionally.
