Job summary

SoCalGas is seeking an Environmental Science Senior II to lead complex environmental projects within the Environmental Services Department. You will drive regulatory permitting, coordinate with agencies, and oversee field activities and data analysis.

The role requires deep environmental science knowledge, strong communication with regulators and stakeholders, and the ability to work independently on high-visibility projects in California.

Qualifications

• Required: 8 years of related experience.
• Preferred: CEQA/NEPA permitting experience and environmental documents.
• Ability to lead complex investigations and synthesize data for decision-making.
• Strong project management and coordination with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as environmental lead; coordinate studies, review documents, implement compliance measures.
• Provide technical leadership for environmental documents including CEQA/NEPA and permit applications.
• Coordinate field activities, environmental inspections, and permitting schedules.
• Develop and optimize environmental programs to meet regulatory obligations and reduce costs.
• Leverage GIS data for spatial analysis and visualization.
• Monitor day-to-day environmental compliance programs and reporting.
• Develop environmental processes and training; perform other duties as assigned.
