Job summary

SoCalGas seeks an Environmental Science Senior I to support the Environmental Services Department in California. You will lead environmental studies, coordinate CEQA/NEPA processes, and manage permit applications while working with project teams, agencies, and the public to ensure compliance and success.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of related experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
• Preferred masters in environmental studies/science or related field.
• Experience leading environmental permit work and studies.

Responsibilities

• Act as environmental lead to prepare and review studies and permit applications.
• Provide technical leadership for CEQA/NEPA documents and related deliverables.
• Coordinate field activities, monitoring, and environmental inspections.
• Maintain environmental programs for regulatory compliance and budgeting.
• Communicate risks and findings to management and clients.
• Oversee desk and field research, data interpretation, and modeling.
• Ensure reports and presentations clearly explain research and recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
