Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a senior environmental and hazardous materials professional to lead environmental due diligence, manage Phase 1/2 assessments, and ensure CERCLA/MTCA compliance across Sound Transit projects.

You will oversee consultants, coordinate with agencies, and mentor staff while supporting ESMS development and sustainability initiatives. Hybrid work in Seattle area with dynamic, mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology or closely related field and 10 years of relevant experience.
• Required license: valid state driver’s license.
• Preferred: PE or Geologist certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental due diligence for Sound Transit projects, including Phase 1 and Phase 2 assessments.
• Manage environmental site assessments, hazardous materials surveys, and remediation cost estimates.
• Coordinate with agencies (e.g., MTCA, CERCLA) and manage consultant contracts.
