Job summary

Sound Transit seeks a senior environmental and hazardous materials professional to oversee due diligence, remediation strategies, and compliance across projects. You will mentor staff, manage consultants, and ensure alignment with CERCLA, MTCA, and ISO 14001 standards.

Responsibilities include leading environmental compliance efforts, coordinating with agencies and project teams, and guiding environmental due diligence from planning through execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology or closely related field.
• Ten years of experience in environmental site assessments, hazardous materials, remediation cost estimates and plans.
• Valid state driver’s license; PE or Geologist certification preferred.
• Knowledge of CERCLA, MTCA and related environmental laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental due diligence documentation for Sound Transit projects to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage consultants and contracts for environmental services, including scopes, schedules and budgets.
• Lead ESMS development and ensure ISO 14001 alignment across projects.
• Provide guidance to project managers on environmental compliance and remediation strategies.
• Coordinate with agencies, vendors and stakeholders and ensure adherence to permits.
