Job summary

CDM Smith Inc. seeks a Project Technical Leader to drive technical delivery under the GDEF framework. Based in Raleigh, Charlotte, or Wilmington, you will share technical vision with the PM and guide a team on water/wastewater projects.

Responsibilities include designing facilities, reviewing designs for regulatory compliance, mentoring junior engineers, and developing technical papers. Travel up to 40% may be required to meet client needs and project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• 10 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; related experience may substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering designs for water and wastewater facilities, pipelines, pump stations, and related infrastructure of varying complexity.
• Review drafts and reports for compliance with regulations and firm policies; sign off on designs.
• Perform site reviews and studies to ensure design alignment with location specifications.
• Contribute to Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers, technical design documentation, and submitting papers to journals.
• Collaborate with sales to craft proposals for client RFPs and ensure adherence to regulations and best practices.
• Meet with clients to evaluate design needs and promote firm products and services.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; mentor engineers for growth.
• Supervise junior engineers on project assignments as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
