Job summary

SOCOTEC in Irvine, CA is seeking a Project Environmental Geologist or Engineer to lead environmental investigations and remediation projects, manage client relationships, and mentor staff. The role involves coordinating Phase I and II ESAs, field sampling, reporting, and regulatory interface.

You will contribute to business development while ensuring safety and compliance with applicable regulations and company standards. In-office with occasional remote/hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Professional licensure as a PG or PE preferred.
• Experience managing Phase I and Phase II investigations and remediation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
• Plan and oversee soil and groundwater investigations.
• Manage project schedules and budgets.
• Serve as primary client contact and coordinate with regulators.
• Oversee field activities including drilling and sampling.
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory submittals.
• Mentor staff and support business development.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
